Of course, these days, the sights are a little less iconic and a little more dangerous. No trip to the Commonwealth would be complete without touring Boston's iconic sights. Despite this, many such places are still inhabited today - whether by settlers trying to survive, or hellish monsters crawling among the ruins. The various subway tunnels, train yards, and other travel centers sit frozen in time, and many are hardly recognizable among the wreckage and ruin. Be wary, as not every structure still standing is safe from the worst of the Wasteland. Ruined buildings and blown out structures are all that remain - but tenacious settlers and survivors have struggled to rebuild to make homes for themselves. Once the pillars of pre-war civilization, the cities of The Commonwealth are often mere shells of their former glory. Various factions continue to fight over bases all around The Commonwealth, for their benefits are plain to see. The military might of the United States may be no more, but the land is still littered with pre-war bases and forts - and with them, treasure troves of army surplus supplies. ![]() The quarries of The Commonwealth have seen better days - once the site of massive excavations to supply the land with stone and more, these areas have lately become home to vicious and hazardous creatures seeking to make them their dwelling, and only the bravest scavenger should seek to explore their depths. Often filled with various workshops in which to modify weapons, armor, and more - truck stops can be a scavenger's dream. People of the wasteland might not drive cars these days, but the average Truck Stop has not lost its value. But with the chance of treasure comes the risk of danger, as such places are rarely free of hazardous waste or worse. Growing crops like Mutfruit and breeding the two-headed Brahmin, farms still find ways to provide food and shelter even in these trying times.įor the average Wasteland scavenger, pre-war junkyards have turned into treasure troves of once worthless junk, now vital to surviving the wastes. The various wrecks of airplanes and ships stand as silent reminders the day the bombs dropped - but even grounded these areas provide suitable loot for those willing to scavenge their broken depths.Įven as the ever-present radiation leaks into the soil, stubborn settlers continue to farm the land in hopes of a better and sustainable life.
